Dr. Berkow designs courses that offer continuing medical education credits (CMEs) to physicians in conjunction with the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine and George Washington University. She also designs courses that offer continuing education units (CEUs) to other health care professionals interested in how nutrition can be used for health promotion and disease prevention.

Courses may range from online learning to a presentation lasting from one to several hours or an all-day workshop.

Topics vary according to need. Dr. Berkow has been commissioned to develop courses for private organizations, professional associations and U.S. government agencies.

In addition to providing lectures to health care professionals, Dr. Berkow teaches at George Mason University, Fairfax Virginia. Her students benefit from her wide-range of experience gained working in the field of nutrition for more than 20 years.

Along with teaching, she mentors young women in science, providing guidance and encouragement for them to pursue a career in health care or science.
